What’s Everything Rapid?

Everything Rapid helps you find fun things to do and great places to eat in the Black Hills. That’s it. Nothing else. Our aspirations are modest (for now, anyway — maybe we’ll try and take over the world when the economy is better).

Why’d you build the site? Two reasons:

1) Like a lot of people in Rapid, we’ve come and gone throughout the years and spent some time in other areas. In some of those towns, we got spoiled by some very convenient online events calendars that told us what was going on around town at any given moment. We moved back to Rapid and found that our town didn’t have one of those. So we decided to build one, and we hope to spoil you with ours just the same.

2) We like eating at restaurants. We like talking about eating at restaurants with others. And now that we’re running this site, we can eat at restaurants and deduct it from our taxes as a business expense. Take that, Uncle Sam!

What kind of events can I find in the calendar? Great question. Answer: Yours! We’ve added a lot of events to get the site up and off the ground, but we must have more, and we are happy to allow you to submit your organization’s events in our calendar! Just click the “submit your events” link, at the top of any page and fill out the form.

Any type of events are fine with us. As long as it’s not a neo-Nazi rally, a violent overthrow of city hall or similar convening of micreants, we’ll probably post it.

Who runs this site? Locals! Like you, we live, work and play in the Black Hills. OK, OK…you probably wanted a little more detail than that. But because we’re anonymously reviewing restaurants here, we’ve got to at least try to remain, well, anonymous. It’s a small town and secrets don’t keep very long, and soon the cat will probably be out of the bag. But for now, we’ll say this: we’re a group of your Black Hills neighbors that wanted a better place to find events online, and had the desire and skill to build it.
